Martha visits Dennis' apartment and learns he's overflowing with love for the Shumways. Cathy catches Dennis embracing Martha, but he convinces her that his affection extends to the whole family. A drunken Tom stumbles home and reconciles with Mary. While embracing, Mary accidentally addresses Tom by his rival's name.
