HBO Max's VELMA is apparently based off the Scooby-Doo franchise, but you wouldn't know that from watching it. From its very adult content, to its totally different, race-swapped characters, gay Velma (and Daphne!) and just TERRIBLE writing, it's safe to say fans of the actual Scooby-Doo should stay far away.
