An immigrant fisherman, Sharko Pierce, is damaged in an oil-cleanup accident. One day he finds an oil-covered mermaid on the beach, and takes her home to make her his own. However, Sharko is forced to defend the mermaid against fisherman who see her as a way to make some money to feed their families.
