The Lübeck Criminal Investigation Department's investigative team led by Finn Kiesewetter and Lars Englen is investigating the death of 19-year-old Marco, who, according to eyewitness accounts, was stabbed by his former teacher, Olaf Kramer, near his old school. Kramer had already been suspended some time ago for a dispute with Marco. He accused the boy of drug dealing. The suspect is on the run and wants to give his son Tim a long-promised bicycle before turning himself in to the police. When he secretly visits Tim, an argument ensues with Rudi Berthold, the new partner of his ex-wife Astrid. Shortly thereafter, the fugitive is found unconscious - with Berthold shot dead next to him. But Olaf Kramer remembers nothing. He is arrested, although Finn Kiesewetter increasingly doubts his guilt. And Astrid Kramer is also unsure. What does her father, Wolfram Pesch, a former red-light district restaurateur whom Olaf Kramer has long sought to prove was involved in dubious drug dealings, have to do with this? When the former teacher manages to escape, events take a dramatic turn.
