A balmy summer night in Lübeck. On the banks of the Trave River, Suse Hausmann and her friends are celebrating her bachelorette party on a restaurant boat. The next day, her ex-boyfriend, Andi Schmidt, the owner of a bowling alley, is fished out of the water dead. He was apparently pushed into the water from the deck, as a footprint on the body proves. Suse's fiancé, Moritz von Dornhain, the son of a long-established shipping family and one of the city's most eligible bachelors, quickly finds himself in the crosshairs of the Lübeck Criminal Investigation Department's investigation involving Finn Kiesewetter and Lars Englen. His mother, Dagmar von Dornhain, was against her son's hasty wedding to Suse, who came from a humble background, from the very beginning and tried to prevent it. This is how she discovered a secret about her future daughter-in-law: Suse is pregnant, and the child could be Andi's. What does Tania Velten, who works at Andi's bowling center like Suse and her mother Elisabeth Hausmann, know? Suse's secret won't be the only one Finn and Lars uncover during their investigation.
