A young man is found dead on the side of the road in the wintry wilderness of Schleswig-Holstein, wearing only his underwear. Apparently heavily intoxicated, he had fallen asleep during the night and frozen to death. The detectives learn from the dead man's pregnant girlfriend that Sebastian had wanted to celebrate his impending fatherhood with friends at the large nightclub "Schrottfabrik." However, the club is 20 kilometers away from the location where he was found. He couldn't possibly have walked that distance while completely drunk. What happened in the last hours before his death? Finn has the victim's mobile data analyzed. According to the data, the police picked up Sebastian, who was drunk, near the nightclub. That night, experienced police sergeant Rolf Asmus and police cadet Dennis Funke, a nephew of public prosecutor Hilke Zobel, were on patrol together. The two officers claim they took the man to the nearest taxi stand. However, no one saw him there. And why didn't the police report the incident properly? When Finn and Lars try to question the police, Hilke Zobel takes over the case.
