E2The Shadow That Devours the SunA one-hour special which adapts a two-chapter manga. The entire countryside is captivated by a rare solar eclipse rumored to grant sight of Mushi, causing a standstill. While many are lost in fascination, those aware of spotting Mushi are preparing for potential consequences. In accordance with a prophecy by cursed recorder Tanyuu Karibusa, Mushishi Ginko arrives in a doomed farming village. The prophecy comes true as an unusual black cloud appears in the sky, shrouding the area in darkness. Ginko suspects Mushi Hihami's involvement and makes it his mission to free the village from its grasp. However, some residents are unwilling to escape the darkness and confront the light once again. - Path of Thorns
E5Path of ThornsAt the request of Tan'yuu, Ginko sets off to investigate a phenomenon that might be related to a dangerous mushi, much to the chagrin of Kumado Minai, the current head of a long line of mushishi, who's in charge of the area. As Ginko and Kumado get to the bottom of the Thicket Path, the secret of the Minai line of mushishi is revealed.
