Quinn meets up with Layla in a park to test various methods for protecting himself from the sun's weakening effects. They try using an umbrella, sun cream, and layers of clothing, with varying degrees of success. Quinn eventually discovers that covering himself completely in thick, black clothing can block out the sun's effects, but realizes this is not a practical solution for fighting. However, he has an epiphany when he remembers a cape made from a beast material that he encountered in a VR game, which could potentially be used to create a protective suit.
