Istanbul: a city of the world, a monster of a city. A city of 18 million inhabitants that is defined in history as the place where Asia meets Europe. The Bosphorus channel cuts the city in two. The Western shore is in Europe, the Eastern in Asia. Istanbul is a wharf.
