Denise holds a BA in Biopsychology from Vassar College and an MA in Writing from Johns Hopkins University. She spent the first twenty years of her career as an executive in the technology industry before leaving the corporate world to devote her energies to the non-profit arena. Her fascination with culinary history has been shared at several science fiction conventions as an approach to world-building. She is a member of SFPA and her poetry has been published in journals, chapbooks, and anthologies. Her most recent book "The Culinary History of Southern Delaware" was published in August 2016.
