School friends Anya and Polina entered the music school together in the vocal department, and together they fell in love with the promising pop singer Denis Dashevskiy. He chose the more talented and modest Anya. Polina, of course, was very upset, but over time she was able to get over it and after school she moved to Moscow. Anya married Denis and gave birth to a daughter, Nastya. Years later, Polina settled in Moscow and performs in posh establishments, while Anya had to forget about singing. She works as an accountant at a fish factory and is responsible for the household: a teenage daughter and a husband who was fired from the ensemble. When Polina shows up on Anya's doorstep with a suitcase, she lets her friend stay with her, not suspecting what will happen next.
