Summer feels attracted again but flippantly concludes from overhearing Andrew tell Paul he's 'sorry' that she must inform detective Mark Brennan, who takes the startled son to the precinct by police car. Ben is unjustly punished by a teacher who takes the fun out of English essay writing by dictating ludicrously precise topics, as if a cheater just because his are 'too good for his age'. The home-front now takes an interest and is impressed, enough to conclude he may be highly gifted and convince him to get tested.
