Businessman Musa, unhappy with the increase in tribute, "orders" Foma through his man to the Architect. But Foma is ahead of the enemy and strikes a preemptive strike, killing Musa and his people. Before his death, one of the bandits admits that he has appointed a killer a new meeting place. Learning about this, Kravtsov and Semyonov go there. To the surprise of the operatives, for the meeting comes Vershinin. Blinded by fury, Kravtsov shoots the murderer of his wife. But soon Semyonov is scheduled to meet with Vershinin's lawyer and transfers the letter of the deceased. It turns out that Vershinin, who had long been involved in the capture of the Architect, decided to impersonate him in order to provoke a real criminal to a mistake - even at the cost of his own life.
