An accident occurs on Nevskiy, in a skirmish that ensued, one of the drivers grabs a pistol and seriously injures another. The victim turns out to be the son of an influential official, and Arsenyev throws all his strength in search of the shooter. Semyonov submits a report on dismissal, but Mikhailov is in no hurry to let him go. Foma comes out of a coma, and Lyubimov is appointed the new deputy chief instead of General Khokhlov caught on a bribe.
