Thanks to Maksimov, who is sure that Semyonov did not kill Pastukhov, Pasha was released from custody. Semyonov needed Maksimov at large to catch the Architect. Maksimov gives Semyonov a photograph of a man whose DNA completely coincided with his DNA - this is Semenchuk.
