A vigilant neighbour hears screams from the apartment opposite, and then sees a guy running out of there with a bag in his hands. Arriving at the scene of the crime, the police find Aleksey Ryabov sobbing over the body of his murdered wife, Elena. In addition to the woman, the body of Tatyana Korolenko, Elena's mother, is found in the apartment. Mikhaylov finds out that a team of labor migrants from Belarus is working in the apartment on the floor above, one of whom was identified by a neighbour. Mikhail Tishkevich becomes a suspect in a double murder.
