In a residential area heavily drunk Efimov beats his girlfriend Katya. She manages to call the police, but Efimov is released the next day. He threatens to take revenge. Somov and Markin detain a gang of car thieves. Soon Somov sees an interview with Markin, where he talks about the detention, but does not mention a word about him. The leader of the gang, Brod, remained at large and owes money to the criminal authority Ufa.
