A Village among Active Faults

S18 • E34 Dec 18, 2016 50m2 active faults triggered an earthquake in Kumamoto Prefecture that measured a maximum 7 on Japan's seismic intensity scale. Most of the houses in an area of one village came crashing down. The residents there had to make a tough choice: Either rebuild their homes and live with the risks posed by the faults, or leave the community they love and relocate to safer area. This is a chronicle of their lives during the first 6 months after the disaster.
