    Episode 1Niels Klim is a self-conscious young theologian from Bergen who falls through a crevice into the Earth's interior. Here he lands on a green planet, where all sentient beings are trees, which do not want disorder to be brought to nature's own balance.

    Episode 2A country on the inside of the globe is populated by decorative and party-crazy monkeys. In order not to seem objectionable, Klim gets a tail and is named the monkey's jester.

    Episode 3In the land of Qvama, Niels Klim is received by the inhabitants as the son of the sun. They are real people, tyrannized by wild animals. They have never thought of defending themselves, but Niels Klim knows how to make gunpowder and cannons. He ends up becoming their emperor.
