The geese enjoy a short stay on a lovely island, which gets the females in a romantic mood, swooning over attractive ganders. Martin feels he is no match, but Nils encourages his mate to go for his potential mate. Martin being shy, Nils uses a type of communicating conches indicated by an elf -who objects to human intervention on principle- to play Cyrano. It still goes wrong, but a serpent cornering her enables Martin to become her savior.
