Designer Sasha Smolyakova has long been married to financier Anton Bespalov, their happiness is overshadowed only by the absence of children. When Bespalov's father unexpectedly dies, the young family is forced to move to Surovsk, Anton's hometown, where he is forced to head the porcelain factory inherited from his father. The couple settles in the house of Anton's mother, Elina Sergeevna. The relationship between mother-in-law and daughter-in-law does not go well right away. Elina Sergeevna is a powerful woman who dreams of worthy heirs of the Bespalov family, and does not want to accept a son's wife, who is unable to give birth. Some time later, Sasha miraculously manages to get pregnant, but the happiness does not last long, tragic news comes - the fetus has a complex pathology. Anton and his mother insist on an abortion; they only want a healthy child. And Sasha is left alone with the most difficult choice of his life.
