She doesn't want her best friend and her gynecologist to get involved like that, so she lies to them both about each having commitment issues. Nevertheless, Charlotte and Doug engage a quick romantic/sexual thing, which ends when Tracy accidentally tells Dr. Bryant Charlotte will be breaking up with him. The three end up on non-speaking terms, but Tracy's ultrasound exam brings them close together and gives the word ""family"" a new meaning to Tracy.
