A young man, pursued by a fallen warrior from the Warring States period, falls from a cliff and sustains serious injuries. Misawa, visiting the village of Onimura for an investigation, befriends a boy named Kenichi. This village has a legend of fallen warriors passed down from ancient times. The village is in turmoil due to a national highway project and the construction of a factory by a major American automobile manufacturer.
