E1Episode 124 December 1904. While Inspector Antoine Jouin is trying to identify a corpse found in the Bois de Boulogne, the vice police round up prostitutes from the streets of Paris, including a young woman, Rosalie Dantremont, causing the death of her newborn child left alone in its cradle. - Episode 2
E2Episode 2To avoid the scandal caused by the death of the newborn, Prefect Lépine covers up for the vice squad and asks Jouin to remain discreet about the Dantremont case. Meanwhile, Meg prepares her husband's vernissage with the help of Fiersi; a vernissage to which she has invited her protector, Prefect Lépine. - Episode 3
E3Episode 3While Meg discovers that Adolphe has syphilis, Jouin identifies the dead man in the woods and discovers that he was connected to the unsolved murder of a notary covered up by the vice squad. The Prefect is also thinking of resigning. Worn out by power, the Rosalie Dantremont affair has convinced him that he no longer has a place at the Prefecture. - Episode 4
E4Episode 4Lépine prepares to leave the Prefecture and Louise forms an alliance with Hector, the Prefect's private secretary, to make him give up his resignation. Jouin's investigation into the dead man in the woods and his hostility following the Rosalie Dantremont affair force the vice police to react: Inspector Guichard comes to arrest Jouin, accusing him of being an "invert".
