Beth Parkin, asleep in the house alone while her husband is out, hears noise downstairs and goes down to discover the police office ransacked before being attacked and slightly hurt as the intruder flees. What first appears to be petty vandalism become more sinister when she receives a phone call warning her to wait for the next time. Has she, or her husband, made an enemy in the village?
