Mr Bennett's car is stolen as he attends the local cinema, taken for a spin by his own son and three of his teenage friends. When they mistakenly think they have knocked down and killed a pedestrian, they panic and decide they cannot just go home. When Parkin is able to catch up with them, he finds that the boys have been seeking to emulate their silver-screen idols.
