The Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling were taking the world by storm even before the final books had even been published. Naturally, a film adaptation was needed. With the success of the books, the movies were pretty much guaranteed to be a success, and that they were-- bringing in billions of dollars at the box office.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone definitely raises some questions though. Like why is Dumbledore doing such public magic in an effort to not be seen doing magic? Why leave Harry with horrible people and not check in on him? Why send so many letters when Howlers are a thing? Why do they celebrate Christmas? Why did Harry get rewarded for essentially making the situation more dangerous? Why is everyone so happy that he killed a teacher?
