Serial murders persist in homicide squad for months and everybody hold their breath because there is not the smallest clue to the perpetrator. Detective Chief Inspector Jo Obermaier is at the end of her strength, both physically and psychologically. Her colleague Tauber tries to take a stance but his view of the world has crumbled. They are forced to be supported by a profiler whose methods are more than suspicious for Tauber's liking.
