Several years ago, Iris Meissner had to drop the investigation into Nicola Wallner for organized crime on the orders of her superior. Wallner's wife and business partner had fled abroad shortly after announcing her intention to testify to the public prosecutor. Three years later, when the woman's body was discovered by chance during routine work by the water authority in the Saale River, Iris Meissner reopened the case.
