When one of his work colleagues, Arthur Wilson Maurice Good has his pay-packet stolen, Frank Marker is the obvious suspect, due to his criminal past. An over zealous Detective Constable is convinced Marker is the thief, mainly due to his suspicions that Marker has paid £4 for a 14 guinea figurine (from his unopened pay packet) and additionally Wilson's empty pay packet has been found in Marker's work overalls.
