In men's football, El Tri's surprise victory over Brazil in London 2012 gave Mexico the gold, in what many have called its highest sporting achievement to date. In BMX Racing, Colombia's Mariana Pajón has put her country at the top of the podium twice, once in London 2012 and again in Rio 2016. The "Queen of BMX" looks back at her career and 2 gold medals while Tokyo awaits her return. Another strong woman who placed her name in the record books in Rio 2016 was Puerto Rico's Monica Puig. On August 13th, 2016 her victory at the women's tennis singles final over Germany's Angelique Kerber gave the island its first ever gold medal, regardless of sport or gender.
