A film about the life and work of the Soviet intelligence officer Richard Sorge in Japan on the eve of and during the Second World War in Japan. Working as a correspondent for an influential German newspaper in Tokyo, he had access to the most valuable information in German diplomatic circles. His brilliant ability to communicate with people made it possible to obtain secret military information.

    Episode 12During Osaka's interrogation, Sorge requests a lawyer and a meeting with the German ambassador; after reading testimony signed by Osaka's agent, Sorge realizes that the game is up and asks for clemency for the members of his cell.
