Ruby becomes an emotional wreck when her beloved dog Lucy becomes gravely ill. Lucy's kidneys are failing her and Ruby must give her daily injections to help them function. Ruby feels herself wanting to turn to food to help comfort her during this difficult time, but she knows she must learn how to cope with the pain in other ways.
