Avram and Gregor conspire against Saladin, but Saladin escapes with the help of allies. Gregor considers a peace treaty proposed by Melik Mevdud, which would abolish Saladin's tribe, but Saladin interrupts negotiations. Sultan Nureddin warns Saladin against endangering the tribe or his state.
