Although very present in people's imaginations, the positivist view, presented in SciCast #415, is not the most adequate way of explaining scientific knowledge, which is why it is already outdated. In this cast, we introduce the contemporary debate on epistemology, which has two main authors as its starting point: Karl Popper and Thomas Kuhn.
