At Hooper's Store, David is nose-deep in his studying. Oscar orders his usual cup of coffee with mustard and relish, then sees that David is studying. He fears that David will become a lawyer and stop working at Hooper's, the only place where Oscar can drink the worst coffee in the world. David ponders taking his education a step further, then tells Oscar that it takes years to become a lawyer, so he's not going anywhere anytime soon.
