Thus, he has a bouquet of old, smelly flowers he intends to give her, thinking such a kind act will persuade her to grant him a favor - namely, to stop fixing things and let the building fall into disrepair. She accepts the flowers, but angrily refuses to do anything Oscar requests of her. She forces the flowers back on him, but he insists she keep them for yelling at him the way she did.
