The book drops Doc and Yoyo near a prince an his way to his arranged alliance with a neighboring kingdom's princess-heiress. When he meets at night a ravishing girl, it's love at first sight, but she flees in panic, because after an hour in the full moon she changes into an unsightly goose herd. The prince gets a week's reprieve before marrying princess Alina. But he's tipped off by a palace maid to research the library, which pits him on the trace of a diabolical switch. Meanwhile he finds the girl by living up to a prophecy that she can only be won by showing abundant virtues.
