A letter, arriving 30 years late, sends Snuffy to college. Snuffy, Barney Google and Louise receive scholarships to Backward University. Snuffy refuses to go. His wife and his cousin convince him that this could be beneficial to him. At Backward U., Snuffy proves to be the worst student that the college ever had... until he gets hit with a football, and a clout on the head gives him new mental powers.
