Lysistrata the Athenian, wife of Meton and mistress of Euripides, is abandoned by her husband and lover who prefer to wage war against Sparta rather than honor her. She succeeds in convincing the Athenian and Spartan women to organize the first feminist movement in the history of humanity. They go on a "love strike" in order to convince their husbands and lovers to lay down their arms and prefer sex to war.
