Harald Krassnitzer plays the hotelier and mayor Joseph in St. Josef. His daughter-in-law Svea (Paula Kalenberg) is a northerner and can't really imagine a church wedding in the Austrian mountains. But after some hesitation, she gets involved in a church festival with all the trimmings in the home of her husband Peter Pirnegger (Sebastian Wendelin). However, the two have no idea that Joseph already has his own plans to keep the couple in town.

Berge auf ProbeA life without the beloved sea noise can hardly imagine the Stralsunderin Svea Classen. As offspring announces, the Hanseatin must redeem a suspended promise: the church wedding in the Alpendorf St. Josef, the home of her husband Peter Pirnegger. Her father-in-law Joseph Pirnegger is already waiting for the opportunity to finally lure his lost son home. As a well-connected mayor, he ensures that Peter gets his dream job as chief veterinarian of the future National Park. He also has something in store for Svea: an administrative center in the neighboring municipality of Klamm. Now - to the chagrin of her mother Charlotte Classen - nothing stands in the way of a half-year "trial period" in the mountains. Soon, Svea realizes what her father-in-law secretly thought: she should make sure that stubborn mayor Mingner agrees to set up a national park. That in the end hard-working mountain farmers like the rebellious Grusch remain on the track, wants to prevent Svea. Now Joseph gets to deal with an adversary who sits with him at the family table.
