Blake is asked to investigate a mysterious car fire outside of Las Vegas. He learns that the fire was started with kerosene and the driver had a head wound on the back of his head, rather than the front as would be expected after a crash. Blake learns that the dead man was tried for embezzlement, but found not guilty and a woman who testified on his behalf lived at a ranch only a few miles from the crash site.
