Fishermen, hunters and picnickers are plagued by a sniper who takes potshots to frighten them away from Blue Lake. When one of the shots results in a fatal automobile accident, Lieutenant Blake is called in to arrest the killer. His investigation takes him into a remote area and a strange family trying to protect the youngest member who can speak a word.
