With Madge and Beth still rejecting Gastric and Leroy only Granville seems to be getting anywhere with Mavis - until they are interrupted by Mr Newbold, buying supplies to sustain himself whilst hiding from Mrs Featherstone. When she turns her attentions to Granville he devises a bizarre plan to get the mismatched couple together, with the help of a shop window dummy and an invented story about Mrs Feasthetrstone's exotic past.
