The series tells the story of the show's main characters Mario, Luigi, Wario, and Waluigi (who used to be Mario and Luigi's arch-rivals) going on wild adventures in the Real World to stop the show's villains Ganondorf, Bowser, Nox Decious, the Darkness, and Kamek. Along the way, they meet a variety of friends and enemies that all play their part in changing the Real World as they know it. The first episode aired on December 29, 2007, with huge success and millions of views. The series finale aired on June 5, 2012, with the conclusion of Season Five. Originally, Alvarez planned to create Season Six, but due to most of the cast members moving away, he was forced to end the series at Season Five.

Their game is interrupted by Wario, who reveals his younger brother and new partner Waluigi. The two heroes and the two villains then get ready to fight.

The Wario Brothers run away and Mario and Luigi go get a pizza.

Three months later (and after a quick shave), the brothers decide to ride go-karts. While enjoying a very leisurely ride, they are suddenly attacked by a strange object. The brothers find a mysterious person hiding nearby who introduces himself as Ash Ketchum, a Pokemon Trainer from Kanto City. A very confusing conversation ensues.

The duo dance through a grocery store and arrive at Ash's house. Mario and Luigi plunge Wobbuffet and it gets stuck to Mario's face. Eventually, Luigi manages to get Wobbuffet off and they decide to no longer be plumbers and get real jobs, leaving Ash.

    A Monkey for your Thoughts?Mario and Luigi are eating bananas by the mailbox. Donkey Kong arrives to pick up a letter, which tells him that Mario and Luigi have stolen his bananas. In his fury, Donkey chases Mario and Luigi. Eventually, the UPS man shows up with another letter for Donkey Kong, which reveals who the real thieves are. Donkey Kong finds the culprits, who immediately regret their crime.

    Special Delivery from a Guy dressed in BrownUPS delivers a faulty package to Ash. Meanwhile, Mario and Luigi discuss the new Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but Mario is worried about the Mushroom Kingdom. Somewhere nearby, UPS has a package to deliver to Mario. However, Bowser has sent FedEx to steal UPS's delivery. The two battle for possession of the package, but UPS wins out. Mario and Luigi are left wondering what could be in the package.

    The Final Countdown until the next CountdownIt turns out that Peach shipped herself to the Real World to escape from Bowser. After Mario and Peach fight, Mario realizes that Bowser will do anything to bring him and Luigi back to the Mushroom Kingdom. Mario and Luigi train hard and they prepare to confront Wario and Waluigi in a final battle.

    Stupid Smash BrothersMario and Luigi fight Wario and Waluigi. Wario and Waluigi are later joined by FedEx, and Ash and DK show up to help Mario. The battle eventually boils down to a beam sword match between Mario and Wario. When it looks like Mario is out for the count, he is saved by an unlikely ally. The episode concludes with a mysterious letter from the Hero of Hyrule.
