Life on an island, enclosed by water, requires ingenuity and all sorts of skills. In Finland there are about 179 000 islands, manifold the amount of the famous Greek islands. The northern archipelago and its nature is harsh but breathtakingly beautiful and the island inhabitants are as tough as the junipers fighting against wind on the outermost islets.
