The unscrupulous Henry Gropper learns from his drunken friend Sam Larchmont that the laundry owned by the Chinese Chow Ting has expensive special services to wash away sins. Henry meets Chow and is warned to neither call nor visit Chow again. But he contacts the laundry again.
