The Baby Club

Season 3

The Baby Club is a ground-breaking series aimed at parents and carers of 6-to-18-month-old babies. Each episode is firmly rooted in academic research and replicates the activities of community baby groups all over the world. Hosted by Giovanna Fletcher and Nigel Clarke, these engaging presenters welcome six babies and their grown-ups, leading on-screen activities and encouraging interaction at home. In each programme the group play together and grow while exploring everyday objects through fun activities, catchy songs and simple stories.

    RoughGiovanna and Baby Bear welcome babies Reau, Arlo, Oliver, Elijah, Zuri and their grown-ups to The Baby Club. Parents, carers and their babies at home are invited to join in with all the fun activities too! Inside Giovanna’s bag are colourful sheets of sandpaper, and all the parents and little ones have different objects and toys that feel rough. These are explored through discovery, play, song and story. Grown-ups at home are encouraged to take part by hiding a safe, baby-appropriate rough object or toy inside a fabric bag or pillowcase for them to reveal and explore with their baby! The nursery rhyme Michael Finnegan features, as does a story involving Baby Bear and Baby Tiger, and viewers at home show how they’ve been exploring rough things too. The Baby Bear Song gets everyone moving about, before some calm time with sensory lights and the Goodbye Song.

Parents, carers and their babies at home are invited to join in with all the fun activities too! Inside Nigel’s bag are a red skittle, a red fire engine toy and a red ball, and all the parents and babies have different objects and toys that are red. These are explored through discovery, play, song and story. Grown-ups at home are encouraged to take part by hiding a safe, baby appropriate red toy or object inside a fabric bag or pillowcase for them to reveal and explore with their baby! The popular baby song Little Robin Redbreast features, as does a story involving Baby Bear and Baby Tiger, and viewers at home show how they’ve been exploring red things too. The Action Song gets everyone moving about, before some calm time with sensory bubbles and the Goodbye Song.

Inside Giovanna’s bag is a night light, and all the parents and babies have different objects and toys that could be used as part of a bedtime routine. These are explored through discovery, play, song and story. Grown-ups at home are encouraged to take part by hiding safe, baby-appropriate bedtime objects and toys inside a fabric bag or pillowcase for them to reveal and explore with their baby! The baby lullaby Little One Time For Bed features, as does a story involving Baby Bear, and viewers at home show what they’ve been doing at bedtime too. The Baby Bear Song gets everyone moving about, before some calm time with sensory lights and the Goodbye Song.

The fun song Round and Round the Seaside features, as does a story about Baby Bear and Baby Tiger playing in a sandpit, and viewers at home show how they’ve been exploring the seaside too. Plus, the Action Song gets everyone moving about, before some calm time with scarves and the Goodbye Song.
