Earth has barely survived a mysterious global catastrophe that plunged the planet into utter darkness. The remnants of humanity are concentrated in a region called the "circle of life," while beyond it, darkness, death, and the unknown reign. An outpost has been established on the protective perimeter of the "circle of life," from which reconnaissance teams are dispatched into the quarantine zone. Former military personnel Yura and Oleg serve there. They are similar and yet very different, but both harbor feelings for the wayward Alena from the Ministry of Emergency Situations. Under the command of Major Dolmatov, the outpost's personnel must uncover a terrible secret about the enemy before the end of all humanity comes.
