Episode 2
S1 • E2 May 20, 2018
This week, the budding farming families experience farming on a totally different scale. As well as continuing their apprenticeship of the hill farm, each of the families heads to a neighbouring farm that produces food on a big scale.
The Burtons get to grips with a milking cows in a rotary dairy parlour that milks 400 cows twice a day, every day, 365 days a year.
The Morgans fly the nest and head to a free-range egg farm that produces 100,000 eggs every week for one of the UK's biggest supermarkets.
The McNultys get down and dirty on a large-scale pig farm producing sausages and bacon for shops across the country - this is the reality of where our food comes from. And of course, all the hard work on Gareth's farm continues, from dry-stone walling to fencing and shepherding wayward sheep.
